Strategic Planning - Workforce Southwest Washington
Workforce Southwest Washington is a nonprofit organization that provides training and education for businesses and job seekers. Over the past 17 years, they have invested more than $120 million to cultivate the growth of local businesses and to help people gain employment. PointNorth was asked to facilitate a robust strategic planning process for the organization.
PointNorth facilitated four workshops for Workforce Southwest Washington’s strategic planning task force, which included leaders across the organization. These workshops guided the taskforce in developing a strategic planning framework, refining their organizational mission and vision, and establishing their shared values. We also led two workshops for their full staff which yielded development of strategic imperatives and goals. We led the charge around their community engagement efforts and internal committee work. Community members were invited to participate in listening and learning sessions and to provide feedback on current local workforce development priorities.
This collaborative process resulted in a three-year strategic plan approved by Workforce Southwest Washington’s board of directors.

PointNorth Consulting oversaw several projects for Workforce Southwest Washington (WSW). They facilitated our strategic planning process including sessions with our staff and board of directors and led focus groups to gain community input to inform our grantmaking process. Their team was responsive and easy to work with and the final product was always of high quality. We appreciate PointNorth's use of inclusive practices and ability to facilitate discussions around diversity, equity, and inclusion.
