Red Electric Design
& Planning

Client: HHPR, Portland Parks & Recreation

Challenge

The City of Portland dedicated a portion of its federal pandemic recovery dollars to complete 30% design drawings for a half-mile segment of the Red Electric Trail. The location of the future trail is directly adjacent to SW Portland residences, an elementary school, public park, church, and community garden.

Solutions

Our inclusive and transparent approach to this project included a student focus group, community trail walk, open house, surveys, digital engagement, and small group meetings. Several community members shared they felt heard by the project team and saw how their feedback directly impacted 30% design plans.
